Abstract

The growing body of literature on mindfulness has demonstrated its positive influence on adolescents’ life satisfaction. Yet, the mechanisms through which mindfulness enhances life satisfaction are not well documented. The present study investigated the mediating role of hope in the association between mindfulness and life satisfaction of Korean adolescents. Participants included 877 middle and high school students in South Korea. Findings from the structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis supported that hope partially mediated the relationship between mindfulness and life satisfaction. Implications for interventions to enhance adolescents’ life satisfaction are discussed.
