Abstract
The current study investigated the effects of parental attachment on commitment to career choices, as mediated by career decision self-efficacy, among Korean college students. The participants included 207 college students (126 female, 81 male students). The results revealed that a better quality of mother and father attachment was associated with greater commitment to career choices and higher self-efficacy in career decision-making. The results of a multiple regression analysis using a MEDIATE macro indicated that only mother attachment significantly predicted commitment to career choices via career decision self-efficacy for both Korean male and female college students when mother attachment and father attachment were simultaneously entered as independent variables.
